Indication of Actifed Chesty Cough & Nasal Congestion Liquid Filled Capsules:

Actifed is used to treat the symptoms of a cold or flu (blocked and runny nose) when a productive cough (coughing up phlegm) is present.

Action of Actifed Chesty Cough & Nasal Congestion Liquid Filled Capsules:

1 Pseudoephedrine -Nasal decongestion – Congestion causes a blocked and runny nose because the lining of the nose in swollen. Decongestant acts by constricting blood vessels in the nose thereby reducing swelling and congestion. 2 Guaifenesin - Helps to clear the lungs and respiratory tract of mucus and phelgm by making it thinner and more viscous (liquid-like).

Dose Advice of Actifed Chesty Cough & Nasal Congestion Liquid Filled Capsules:

-Adults (>12) -2 capsules every 4-6 hours -Children (6-12) – 1 capsule every 4-6 hours

Common side effects of Actifed Chesty Cough & Nasal Congestion Liquid Filled Capsules:

Possible side effects tend to be mild and disappear quickly. These include: palpitations, increased heart rate, difficultly sleeping, lightheadedness, dizziness, headache, tremor, nervousness. Serious side effects are very rare.

Uncommon side effects of Actifed Chesty Cough & Nasal Congestion Liquid Filled Capsules:

Very rare side effects include hallucinations and difficultly urinating. Allergic reactions are very rare and may occur as a skin rash
