Alu Tab - Basic Information

 

Indication of Alu Tab:

Alu Tab is used for the relief of symptoms of peptic ulcer disease and the condition of having too much acid in the stomach. It can also have a role in patients who have kidney disease.

Action of Alu Tab:

Alu Tab is an antacid, so it neutralises the acid found in the stomach to relieve the symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. The aluminium component also forms compounds with phosphate in the large bowel which helps the body excrete excess phosphate (which may be needed in kidney disease)

Dose Advice of Alu Tab:

Tablets are 600mg each.Recommended dose is 1-2 tablets 4 times a day.

Common side effects of Alu Tab:

Constipation: If this occurs, cease the medication and see your doctor.

Uncommon side effects of Alu Tab:

Muscle weakness, tiredness and anorexia: If these occur cease the medication and see your doctor immediately.
