Benadryl for the Family Original treats colds and hayfever. It helps to relieve sneezing, coughing, itchy, watery red eyes and a runny or blocked nose.
Action of Benadryl Family Original:
Benadryl for the Family Original contains: -Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine. It blocks the action of histamine. Histamine is the cause of many allergic symptoms eg. sneezing, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes. It also relieves cough.- Ammonium chloride helps to clear phlegm and mucus.
Dose Advice of Benadryl Family Original:
-May cause drowsiness, take precautions whilst driving or operating heavy machinery-Should not be taken with alcohol or other sedatives-Adults (> 12 years)- 10 mL every 4 hours-Children (6-12 years)- 5 mL; every 4 hours-Children (2-5 years) - 25 mL every 4 hours-Consult your doctor before using if -you are breastfeeding-you are taking MAOI
