Indication of Calcijex:
Calctriol is used in treatment of low calcium levels (hypocalcaemia) in patients on chronic renal dialysis.
Action of Calcijex:
Calcitrol increases the levels of calcium in the body by increasing the absorption of calcium in the intestines and by decreasing the amount of calcium lost through the kidneys. By increasing the calcium levels Calcitriol promotes the formation of strong bones.
Dose Advice of Calcijex:
Hypocalcaemia in chronic renal dialysis0.5 micrograms intravenously three times each week given as a bolus dose at the end of haemodialysisThis dose may be increased by 0.25
