Indication of Calcium Gluconate Injection BP (DBL):

Parenteral calcium replacement is required in: -acute hypocalcaemia-hypocalcaemic tetany-severe hyperkalaemia (too much potassium)-magnesium sulfate overdose (calcium is the antagonist of magnesium toxicity)Calcium injections have also been used in: -acute renal, biliary and intestinal colic-prevention of hypocalcaemia in exchange transfusions-long-term electrolyte replacement therapy
