Indication of Cytotec:

Peptic ulcer disease Prevention of ulcers induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugsTermination of second trimester pregnancy and stillbirths

Action of Cytotec:

Misoprostol protects the lining of the gastrointestinal tract by increasing the secretion of mucus in the stomach and by stimulating bicarbonate secretion in the duodenum (part of the small intestine). Misoprostol also inhibits acid secretion in the stomach.
