Indication of Exjade:
Exjade is used to lower the level of iron in your body. Your bodys iron level can become too high if you have had a lot of blood transfusions.Action of Exjade:
Exjade binds with the excess iron in the body, reducing its numbers.Dose Advice of Exjade:
The dose of Exjade depends on how much blood you are getting transfused per month and your weight. Exjade tablets come in three strengths (as a once daily dose): 125mg, 250mg and 500mg. Your doctor will let you know what strength of tablets to take.The tablets are to be dispersed in about 20mL of water and then diluted more with juice or water. They are to be taken at approximately the same time each day and must be taken at least half an hour before food.Exjade is not recommended if you are pregnant (category C) or breastfeeding as there is little known data in this area. It is also not usually administered to children under 6 years old unless the child is unable to take alternative medication.Schedule of Exjade:
