Indication of Fentanyl/Fentanyl Injection (DBL):

Fentanyl is used in the treatment of acute pain and to depress breathing in patients being ventilated It may also be given as an infusion under the skin in palliative care patients who have intolerable side effects from morphine.

Action of Fentanyl/Fentanyl Injection (DBL):

Fentanyl is an opioid medication. Opioids act on opioid receptors in the nervous system to reduce the sensation of pain. As well as relieving pain, Fentanyl also decreases breathing and causes constipation
