Indication of Marevan:
Used to treat or deep vein thrombosis (blood clots within the legs) and pulmonary embolism (blood clots within the lungs). May also be used to prevent blood clots in those with atrial fibrillation.
Action of Marevan:
Warfarin is an anticoagulant. It prevents the formation of blood clots which may block blood vessels. This prevents occurrences such as heart attacks, strokes and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Dose Advice of Marevan:
Warfarin tries to keep a balance between prevention of clotting without bleeding excessively. It is important to take warfarin directly according a doctors prescription.Do not take or discontinue any other medication without notifying a doctor.Avoid alcohol.Do not take Warfarin if you are pregnant or wish to become pregnant. Regular prothrombin time tests are essential. Eat a normal, balanced diet and avoid drastic changes to your diet. Report illness or bleeding to a doctor.Seek appropriate medical advice if uncertain.

Common side effects of Marevan:
Haemorrahage (bleeding) is the most common side effect. This may present as internal bleeding and symptoms may include : paralysis, changes in sensationheadachepaindizzinessshortness of breathdifficult breathing or swallowingunexplained swellingweakness."Purple toes syndrome": Purple patches on feet and toes which wax and wane, legs may also be painful.Contact your doctor if any of the above are suspected
