Relief of nasal congestion associated with acute and chronic rhinitis, common cold and sinusitis
Action of Otrivin Nasal Mist Junior/Adult:
Produce vasoconstriction in nasal mucosa; decrease nasal blood flow and congestion
Dose Advice of Otrivin Nasal Mist Junior/Adult:
Otrivin Nasal Mist Adult: Nasal spray, 0.1%, 15mLOtrivin Nasal Mist Junior: Nasal spray, 0.05%, 15mLAdult, Child > 12 years: Nasal spray 0.1%, 1 spray into each nostril up to 3 times daily Nose drops 0.1%, 2-3 drops into each nostril up to 3 times dailyChild > 6 years: Nasal spray/drop 0.05%, 2-3 sprays/drops into each nostril up to 3 times daily
Common side effects of Otrivin Nasal Mist Junior/Adult:
Transient burning, stinging, increased nasal dischargeRebound congestion with prolonged use (4-5 days). Rebound congestion is associated with overuse and may take several weeks to reverseNasal decongestants are contra-indicated in MAOI treatment
