Reductil - Basic Information


Indication of Reductil:

Reductil is used in weight loss management in conjunction with low calorie diet.

Action of Reductil:

Reductil reduces calorie intake and increases resting metabolic rate by inhibiting serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake.

Dose Advice of Reductil:

Reductil may be taken with or without food. Its daily recommended dose is between 10 - 15mg once daily. As Reductil may cause drowsiness or dizziness, you are advised not to drive or operate heavy machineries until you know how it affects you. Since safety profile for Reductil in pregnant women has not been established, use of Reductil during pregnancy is not recommended (Category C). You should discuss with your doctor if you are at child bearing age or intend to become pregnant during treatment with Reductil. Appropriate contraceptive methods should be employed if required Reductil should not be used if you are breastfeeding as it is unknown whether sibutramine or its metabolites are excreted in breast milk.
