Indication of Testogel:
Testogel is used in the treatment of male hypogonadism when testosterone deficiency has been confirmed by various biochemical tests and clinical features.Action of Testogel:
Testogel is an androgen replacement therapy which contains testosterone. It stimulates and maintains male characteristics and sexual function.Dose Advice of Testogel:
The recommended dose for Testogel depends on the clinical and laboratory test results. A 5g (equivalent to testosterone 50mg) Testogel sachet is recommended once daily in most cases. However, your doctor may increase your daily dose by 25g step to a maximum of 2 sachets per day. The gel is best to be applied at the similar time everyday, preferably in the morning. The gel should be applied onto dry, clean, healthy skin of the shoulder, arm or abdomen. You should avoid applying the gel to genital areas as high alcohol content may cause local irritation. After opening the sachets, the contents should be used immediately. The gel has to be simply spread on the skin gently as a thin layer. You have to allow several minutes before dressing. You should also wash your hands thoroughly after using the gel. The adverse effects associated with Testogel are mainly skin irritations. This is mainly due to frequent application and high alcohol content in the Testogel. The occurrence is rather high (approximately 10%), however, they are considered mild. You should advise your doctor if you experience any of the following: Irritation at the application site (Rash) Erythema Acne or dry skin.Uncommon side effects of Testogel:
The following adverse drug reactions were reported in 1 to < 10% of patients treated with Testogel in the controlled clinical trials. Do not be alarmed by the extensive list. If you experience any of the adverse effects listed, you should seek medical advice.
