Vicks Sinex - Basic Information

 

Indication of Vicks Sinex:

Relief of nasal congestion associated with acute and chronic rhinitis, common cold and sinusitis

Action of Vicks Sinex:

Produce vasoconstriction in nasal mucosa; decrease nasal blood flow and congestion

Dose Advice of Vicks Sinex:

Vicks Sinex: Nasal spray, 0.05%, 15mLAdult: 1-2 sprays into each nostril up to 4 times dailyChild >6 years: 1-2 sprays into each nostril up to 4 times daily Combination products are not recommended

Common side effects of Vicks Sinex:

Transient burning, stinging, increased nasal dischargeRebound congestion with prolonged use (4-5 days). Rebound congestion is associated with overuse and may take several weeks to reverseNasal decongestants are contra-indicated in MAOI treatment
