Action of Xenical:
Xenical acts by inhibiting gastric lipases. These are enzymes that are involved in the absorption of dietary triglycerides (or fat molecules). When their actions are blocked by Xenical, approximately 30% of dietary fat is prevented from being absorbed into the body. This helps to reduce weight in overweight and obese patients with a low fat intake.
Dose Advice of Xenical:
Xenical is available in the form of 120mg capsules, and box sizes of 42 and 84 capsules. These should be taken 3 times a day with meals. So you should take them with (or up to 1 hour after) your breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, if you miss a meal or if it does not contain fat, then you should miss a dose of your Xenical.
